We are a progressive club that offers activities for all types of bowlers, from those who just wish to keep fit in good friendly company, to those who want to improve and hone their skills of bowling in order to compete at the higher levels.
How to . . . Play Lawn Bowls
At heart we are a lawn bowls club. It is a quintessentially British game to be played in a charming and polite atmosphere. To that end there are two pages we encourage beginners to read : Club Etiquette and Play Lawn Bowls. Perhaps long-term members should read them for an occasional refresher too!
How to . . . Play Short Mat Bowls
When the club runs into Autumn there are enthusiasts whose weekly activity is thwarted by a wet green and cold weather, so they turn to our second activity : Short Mat Bowls. A carpet is rolled out in the pavilion and the weekly fix is satisfied! Please click here for our guide to Short Mat Bowls. Play is generally from October to April. It is subject to a small additional fee to cover the cost of heating the clubhouse.
How to . . . Play Bowls Bash
From time to time we may play a second version of lawn bowls, namely Bowls Bash sessions, which can be completed in a shorter time-frame.. A Bowls Bash Match lasts just an hour with everybody involved throughout. For more information please read our Bowls Bash page
